Seydou Legacy Athletique Club Conakry adds Gilbert to their roster, ex Heroes

Seydou Legacy Athletique Club Conakry (D1) has added 30-year-old American forward Marcus Gilbert (198cm-84kg-1993, college: Fairfield) to their roster. He is the second foreign player on the team, with Nigerian Zaid Hearst signing earlier. Gilbert most recently played for Heroes in the Venezuelan SPB league, averaging 12.6ppg, 4.9rpg, 1.9apg, and 1.6spg in 9 games in 2022. In the previous season, he played for GhostHawks in the Taiwanese league.
He's a highly experienced player, having played in seven different countries across three continents. He's had professional stints in Cyprus (Apoel), Greece (Ifaistos), Italy (Ferentino and Cestistica Viola Reggio Calabria), Portugal (FC Porto), Spain (Palma), and Taiwan.
The list of past achievements is extensive, including his team's successful run to the Cyprus League Semifinals in 2021. Additionally, he was recognized with the Eurobasket.com All-Cyprus League Honorable Mention in the same year.
He graduated from Fairfield University in 2016, and this upcoming season will mark his eighth as a professional player.
