West Africa records easy win; St. Louis shocks Accra Wesley Girls

West Africa Senior High School (WASS) has recorded a straight forward win over Asuom Senior High School in the 2020 Sprite Ball Championship. The competition taking place at the El Wak Stadium in Accra, Ghana had last year's silver medal winners beat debutant Asuom 37-14 in Group D. WASS led 17-6 at half time with Courage Dogbey and Karim Minai dominating play; both players were part of last season's silver medal winning team. Pint sized fresh faced Point Guard Mahfuuz Naroudeen thrilled fans at the venue bagging a three point shots after coming off the bench and playing with poise way beyond his years.
In the Girls Division, St. Louis shocked two time silver medal winners Accra Wesley Girls Senior High School with a 32-14 result in the division's Group B. St. Louis placed fourth in last year's tournament after a seven year absence; the team plays Wesley Girls High School and Shama Senior High Schoool next. The top two teams in the group progress to the semifinals.
