2019 ABL Men's Division I Final Standings; Braves still reign - Nov 18, 2019


The 2019 Accra Basketball League (ABL) season has come to a successful end with stakeholders praising the League Board for putting together a well organized competition. With the chips on the line, Braves of Customs mounted a major comeback to retain the Men's Division title after emerging winners in a very tough three game series against budding rival Adenta Leopards. Braves beat Leopards 60-56 in Game 3 of the finals to win the series despite falling 57-65 in Game One; the team triumphed in Game 2 via an 82-56 win. After losing for the first time in over a year, many viewed Braves stranglehold on the division as a sign of slippage only for the team to storm back to clinch back to back wins to emerge champions. The team received the Benjamin Baafi Trophy and 2000 Ghana Cedis as cash prize with Leopards coming in second place and winning 1000 Ghana Cedis. Ghana Fire Service placed third at the expense of multiple time league runner up Tema Youth.
