Tema Youth ends losing run to Leopards as Braves ends season with win - Oct 14, 2018
Tema Youth has ended a two game losing run to Adenta Leopards after clinching a 65-59 win in the third meeting this season. The third game took place at the Lebanon House Court in Tudu which had Tema beat Adenta after losing to Leopards in the first round and CAP 7 Memorial Tournament.
The win came in the final game for both sides as the 2018 season is all but over with Ghana Fire Service game against Reformers of Prisons the only fixture to be honored.
After falling to a 0-8 start in the opening minutes, Tema settled on defense and forced Leopards into several turnovers to take a 12-10 first quarter lead and extended it to 34-18 at the end of the first half with the likes of Kwame Boamah Djan scoring for the side.
Tema continued to score at will to lead 50-34 midway through the third quarter. Leopards made a late run in the latter part of the quarter to trail by ten points (42-52). Leopards Forward Muhaimin Guba and Godwin Tetteh drained shots to get within two points of Tema's lead but Youth held on by getting points from the free throw line to clinch the win.
Braves ended its season on a high beating Reformers 85-48 for its 16th win in 16 games in easy fashion. Reformers barely challenged Customs and the highlight moment came in the final quarter when Center Suleiman Abubakar sank a three point shot.
