Aix-Maurienne Savoie Basket (ProB) re-signed experienced 35-year old Gambian forward Moses Sonko (196-83, college: Co.Carolina, agency: HMS). He played there last season. In 32 ProB games he averaged 12.5ppg, 4.9rpg, 1.7apg and 1.0spg. Sonko helped them to make it to the French ProB Leaders Cup Semifinals.
The previous (15-16) season he played at BC Boncourt Red Team in Swiss LNA where in only one game he had 12 points, 6 rebounds, 2 assists and 2 steals.
Among other achievements Sonko won Angolan League championship title in 2014. He received also Afrobasket.com All-Angolan League 1st Team award back in 2014.
And here thanks to pro basketball Sonko experienced life on three different continents. He is familiar with European, African and of course North American leagues. Sonko has played previously professionally in Israel (Hapoel Yokneam/Megido), France (JL Bourg, Quimper UJAP and Boulazac Basket) and Angola (Libolo).
He is close to retirement age as a player. It may be one of last seasons in his extensive career, which he may end at Aix-Maurienne.
Sonko attended Coastal Carolina University until 2007 and it will be his eleventh (!!!) season in pro basketball.
