AEK Betsson inks Chris Silva

Chris Silva

AEK Betsson Athens (GBL) agreed terms with 28-year old Gabonese international power forward Chris Silva (206cm-106kg-1996, college: S.Carolina) for the upcoming 2025-26 season. He was the best rebounder at Bnei Hertzeliya in the Israeli Winner League last season, where in 19 games he had very impressive stats: 15.1ppg, 8.0rpg, 2.8apg, and 1.1bpg. He helped them to make it to the Israeli Winner Cup Semifinals. In the 2024-25 season, he was named to Eurobasket.com All-Israeli League Honorable Mention and League Player of the Week. The previous (2024) summer, he played for Mets (BSN) in the Puerto Rican league. Silva also played for another Puerto Rican team, Piratas (BSN), in the Puerto Rican league. He has been regularly called to the Gabonese Senior National Team since 2015.
Silva is a very experienced player. He has played professionally in Puerto Rico, the NBA (Atlanta Hawks, Dallas Mavericks, Miami Heat, Sacramento Kings, and Minnesota Timberwolves), the NBA G League (Sioux Falls, Iowa Wolves, and College Park SkyHawks), and the NBA Summer League (Brooklyn Nets and Dallas Mavericks).
Among many awards, he played in the final of the NBA in 2020. He was also voted All-SEC Co-Defensive Player of the Year back in 2018 during his college time.
Silva graduated from the University of South Carolina in 2019, and it will be his seventh season as a pro player.
