Bnei Ofek Dist Hertzeliya (Winner League) signed 27-year old Gabonese epower forward Chris Silva (206cm-106kg-1996, college: S.Carolina) for the upcoming 2024-25 season. He is the second foreign player on the roster, with USA Josh Hawley having signed earlier. Silva played last season with Mets de Guaynabo in the Puerto Rican BSN league. In 6 games, he averaged 9.0ppg, 5.3rpg, and 1.0apg. He also played for another Puerto Rican team, Piratas (BSN). Silva was a member of the Gabonese Senior National Team in 2015.
Silva is a very experienced player. He has played professionally in the NBA between Atlanta Hawks, Dallas Mavericks, Miami Heat, Sacramento Kings, and Minnesota Timberwolves. He has also played in the NBA G League with the Sioux Falls Skyforce, Iowa Wolves, and College Park SkyHawks, as well as in the NBA Summer League with the Brooklyn Nets and Dallas Mavericks.
He has won numerous awards, including playing in the final of the NBA in 2020. He was voted All-SEC Co-Defensive Player of the Year during his college years in 2018.
Silva graduated from the University of South Carolina in 2019, and it will be his sixth season as a pro player.
