Equatorial Guinea - Gabon 58:66

Gabon overcame Equatorial Guinea 66-58 in Leg 1 of the FIBA Africa Zone 4. The winner of this playoff series will join Senegal, Cameroon and Rwanda in Group C, which tips off in November. Gabon started with a 23-17 run and led 8 points at the halftime. Equatorial Guinea replied with a 16-12 rally in the third quarter, whilst Gabon closed the game with a final 14-10 run.
Tracey Minko (2001) stepped up with 16 points and Dolivitch Moupomo (1999) netted 15. Oscar Mifumu replied with 15 points in the losing effort.
