Here is the last round review presented by LBM Management.

The most crucial game of the last round was the first loss of Alexandria (6-1) in Cairo on Saturday night. Visitors were defeated by Al Ahly (7-0) 75-61. It ended at the same time the six-game winning streak of Alexandria. It was a key game for the top position in the league. Al Ahly dominated down low during the game scoring 50 of its points in the paint compared to Alexandria's 28. They outrebounded Alexandria 47-30 including 16 on the offensive glass. Al Ahly looked well-organized offensively handing out 22 assists. It was a great evening for the former international power forward Raneem Elgedawy (193-1997, college: WKU) who led her team to a victory with a double-double by scoring 21 points, 13 rebounds and 5 assists. Nadine Salawi helped adding 21 points and 10 rebounds. At the losing side the former international forward Hagar Amer (184-1993) responded with a double-double by scoring 20 points and 10 rebounds. Undefeated Al Ahly have an impressive series of seven victories in a row. Defending champion maintains first place with 7-0 record, which they share with NBEC. Alexandria at the other side dropped to the third position with one game lost.
Another exciting game was a derby match between two teams from Cairo: NBEC (#4) and Al Zohour (#3). NBEC (7-0) crushed visiting Al Zohour (5-2) by 20 points 84-64. It ended at the same time the four-game winning streak of Al Zohour. It was an exceptional evening for Huda Alaa who led the winners and scored 6 points, 19 rebounds and 6 assists. Farida Tamer accounted for 19 points and 9 rebounds. NBEC's coach used entire bench which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Mariam Morad came up with a double-double by scoring 13 points and 15 rebounds for Al Zohour in the defeat. The victory was the fifth consecutive win for NBEC. They keep a position of league leader, which they share with Al Ahly. Al Zohour at the other side dropped to the fourth place with two games lost.
Bottom-ranked Aviation (0-6) is still winless. This time they could not use their home court advantage losing their sixth consecutive match to thirteenth ranked Olympic (2-4) 70-38 on Saturday evening. Rola Ahmed fired 9 points and 11 rebounds for the winners. Habiba Hany produced 10 points for lost side. The winner was already known earlier in the game, so both coaches allowed to play the bench players saving starting five for next games. Olympic moved-up to tenth place. Aviation lost their sixth game in a row. Aviation at the other side, also newcomer in the league, still closes the standings with six games lost. They share the position with New Giza.

There were no shocking results in the rest of the games of round 7: Shooting won against Al Gezira on the opponent's court 67-66. Al Shams managed to outperform Wadi Degla in a home game 53-44. Misr Insurance was rolled over Heliopolis on the road 59-34. Winless New Giza was crushed by Somouha on its own court 53-77.

Al Gezira - Shooting 66-67

Very expected game in Cairo where 13th ranked Al Gezira (1-5) was edged by eighth ranked Shooting (4-3) 67-66 on Saturday. Shooting looked well-organized offensively handing out 21 assists. Point guard Hana Elgoly (167-2007) fired 12 points and 4 assists for the winners. Guard Salma Bahgat (164-2002) chipped in 2 points and 12 assists. Shooting's coach used a ten-player rotation in such tough game. Zeina Haleem produced a double-double by scoring 10 points and 11 rebounds and guard Jana Elshamy (175-2004) added 15 points and 6 rebounds respectively for lost side. The victory was the fourth consecutive win for Shooting. They moved-up to sixth place, which they share with Heliopolis. Al Gezira lost their fifth game in a row. They dropped to the fourteenth position with five games lost.

Very predictable result in Cairo where fifth ranked Al Shams (4-1) defeated 10th ranked Wadi Degla (2-5) 53-44 on Saturday. Al Shams held Wadi Degla to an opponent 23.0 percent shooting from the field compared to 34.5 percent accuracy of the winners. Al Shams forced 20 Wadi Degla turnovers and outrebounded them 44-33 including a 35-24 advantage in defensive rebounds. Jana Yehia fired 8 points and 14 rebounds for the winners. Fatema El Gohary chipped in 13 points and 4 assists. Nour Amr produced a double-double by scoring 10 points and 12 rebounds and Malak Ismael added 18 points respectively for lost side.
