The most exciting game was a derby match between two local teams from Cairo: Heliopolis (#5) and Al Geish (#4). Heliopolis (8-3) won against visiting Al Geish (7-2) 80-73. It ended at the same time the four-game winning streak of Al Geish. They outrebounded Al Geish 46-32 including 33 on the defensive glass. It was a good game for Mahmoud Shershaby who led his team to a victory with a double-double by scoring 18 points and 18 rebounds. Ayman Rasmy contributed with 24 points and 9 rebounds for the winners. Emad Raafat answered with 13 points for Al Geish. Al Geish's coach rotated eleven players in this game, but that didn't help. Heliopolis have a solid series of three victories in a row. They moved-up to fourth place. Al Geish at the other side dropped to the fifth position with two games lost.
Worth to mention about the upset in a game between Al Zohour (5-6) and Al Shams (4-6), which took place in Cairo. Higher ranked Al Zohour lost to twelfth ranked Al Shams in a road game 51-56. It ended at the same time the three-game winning streak of Al Zohour. It was a great evening for Omar Ghareeb who led his team to a victory scoring 12 points and 8 rebounds. Jervae Robinson helped adding 14 points. The best for the losing side was Mamdouh Mohamed with 10 points, 9 rebounds and 4 assists. Both coaches used bench players in such tough game. Al Shams have a solid series of three victories in a row. They moved-up to eleventh place, which they share with Al Gezira. Al Zohour at the other side dropped to the tenth position with six games lost.
The game between sixth ranked Olympic (6-5) and 13th ranked Damanhour (3-8) in Alexandria on Wednesday ended with biggest points difference. Olympic outscored guests from Alexandria 95-70. It was a quality performance for Hatem Behiry who led the winners and scored 23 points and 4 steals (went 7 for 7 at the free throw line). Hassan Elkhouga came up with 14 points and 8 rebounds for Damanhour in the defeat. The winner was already known earlier in the game, so both coaches allowed to play the bench players saving starting five for next games. Newly promoted Olympic maintains sixth place with 6-5 record. Damanhour lost fourth consecutive game. They keep the thirteenth position with eight games lost.

In the last two games of round 15 Zamalek beat Petrojet on the road 86-76. Aviation lost to Canal on its own court 59-69.



Petrojet - Zamalek 76-86

No shocking result in a game when tenth ranked Zamalek (5-5) beat 14th ranked Petrojet (1-9) in Cairo 86-76 on Friday. Zamalek outrebounded Petrojet 42-31 including 30 on the defensive glass. Zamalek looked well-organized offensively handing out 25 assists. It was an exceptional evening for the former international guard Adam Moussa (190-2002, college: CBU) who led the winners with a double-double by scoring 18 points, 9 rebounds and 12 assists. International Khaled Abdelgawad (204-1999) accounted for 15 points and 10 rebounds for the winning side. Ayman Chawkat came up with 16 points and 4 assists and American-Palestinian Kyndall Dykes (192-1987, college: New Orleans, agency: Slash Sports) added 12 points and 7 rebounds respectively for Petrojet in the defeat. Five Zamalek and four Petrojet players scored in double figures. Both coaches tested many bench players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Zamalek moved-up to seventh place, which they share with Smouha and WE Sporting. Petrojet lost fourth consecutive game. Newly promoted team keeps the fourteenth position with nine games lost. They share it with Aviation.

Very expected game when 14th ranked Aviation (1-9) lost to third ranked Canal (9-2) in Cairo 59-69 on Wednesday. Canal dominated down low during the game scoring 50 of its points in the paint compared to Aviation's 24. Canal forced 19 Aviation turnovers. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 22 assists. It was an exceptional evening for American guard Madarious Gibbs (185-1993, college: Texas Southern) who led the winners with a triple-double by scoring 16 points, 10 rebounds, 12 assists and 5 steals. Ahmed Shaaban accounted for 10 points and 7 rebounds for the winning side. Canal's coach used an eleven-player rotation which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Abdallah Ibrahim came up with a double-double by scoring 10 points and 10 rebounds and Gamal Hesham added 17 points respectively for Aviation in the defeat. Newly promoted Canal maintains third place with 9-2 record behind leader Al Ittihad Al. Aviation lost eighth consecutive game. Aviation at the other side, also newcomer in the league, keeps the fourteenth position with nine games lost. They share it with Petrojet.
