Eric Kibi (ex Al Ashrafiyah) signs at Al Thawra

Eric Kibi

Al Thawra Damascus (D2) landed experienced 35-year old DR Congolese-Canadian ex-international 198cm forward Eric Kibi (college: ACU). He played recently at Al Ashrafiyah in Jordanian Premier League. In 13 games he averaged impressive 21.4ppg, 14.9rpg, 3.6apg and 1.7spg this season. He was also voted League Player of the Week. Kibi also played for Sloga Uppsala (Basketligan) in Swedish league.
He is a very experienced player. And here thanks to pro basketball he experienced life in sixteen different countries playing on five different continents. Kibi is familiar with European, Asian, Latin American, African and of course North American leagues. He has played professionally in Argentina (Libertad, Tiro Federal and Racing de Chivilcoy), Canada (Rattlers and Blackjacks), Chile (Los Leones, Tinguiririca and CD Espanol Osorno), Denmark, France (Golbey and Avignon/Pontet), Germany, Holland (Hague), Iraq (Al Hilla, Al Mina and Darbandkhan), Montenegro, Morocco (AS Sale), Romania (Focsani), Slovakia (Handlova), Spain (L'Hospitalet), Sweden and Venezuela (Toros).
Among many awards he played in the final of Chilean Liga Nacional in 2023. Kibi was selected to Latinbasket.com All-Chilean Liga Nacional Honorable Mention back in 2022.
He is close to retirement age as a player. It may be one of last seasons in his extensive career, which he may end at Al Thawra.
He graduated from Abilene Christian University in 2012 and it is his 14th (!!!) season in pro basketball. He played also for University of Arkansas at Little Rock for one year.
