Blazers ink Franck Nyembo

Franck Nyembo

Defending champion Namuwongo Blazers (NBL) agreed terms with 19-year old DR Congolese international forward Franck Nyembo (200cm-2006) for the new 2026 season. He played last summer at Sommet. In 15 NBL games in Uganda, he had very impressive stats: 18.3ppg, 11.8rpg, 2.3apg, and 3.0spg. He helped them to end the regular season as the second-best team in the league. They also advanced to the league semifinals. 2025-25 was a great season as he was voted Afrobasket.com All-Ugandan League Import Player of the Year, Afrobasket.com All-Ugandan League Defensive Player of the Year, and Afrobasket.com All-Ugandan League Best Prospect of the Year. Nyembo also played for Espoir BBC Kigali (RBL) in the Rwandan league. He has been regularly called to the DR Congolese Senior National Team since 2025.
Nyembo has also played in DR Congo (Chaux Sport).
