GTK sign Florent Thamba

Florent Thamba

Tauron GTK Gliwice (OBL) signed 26-year-old DR Congolese international Florent Thamba (college: Baylor) as a 208cm power forward for the new season. He is the second import player on the team, with USA Jarred Godfrey joining earlier. Thamba most recently played for ADA Blois Basket 41 in French ProB, averaging 8.1ppg and 4.1rpg in 40 games last season. He also played for Heroes De Falcon (SPB) in the Venezuelan league during the summer of 2024. Thamba has been a regular member of the DR Congolese Senior National Team since 2024.
Thanks to pro basketball, Thamba has experienced life on three different continents. He is familiar with European, Latin American, and North American leagues. He has played professionally in Sweden (Jamtland) and Venezuela.
Thamba won an NCAA championship title in 2021. He was voted to Eurobasket.com All-Swedish Basketligan Honorable Mention in 2024.
He graduated from Baylor University in 2023, and it'll be his third season in pro basketball.
