Basketball-FIBA Africa Zone/World Qualifiers 2023: Tunisia lose to DR Congo 68-72

Tunisia's national basketball team failed to qualify for the FIBA Basketball World Cup 2023 after Sunday's loss to DR Congo 72-68 at a third and final game of the last window of the African qualifiers played in Egypt. The national team, who were battling with Senegal for the last ticket at stake, kept their hopes alive after defeated their Senegalese opponents 70-53 at day 2 game on Saturday in Alexandria. It was Cape Verde who booked the final ticket to the FIBA World 2023 thanks to their 79-64 win over Cote d'Ivoire. South Sudan and Egypt had qualified automatically as the top two teams in Group F, while Cote d'Ivoire and Angola qualified in Group E, with the final ticket going to the team that finish best third in the two groups.
