Gimnasia sign Víctor Andrade

Gimnasia y Esgrima Comodoro Rivadavia (La Liga) signed 25-year-old Cape Verdean 202cm power forward Victor Andrade for the upcoming season. He is the second foreign player on the roster, with Venezuelan Jesus Centeno already signed. Andrade most recently played for Lagomar in the Uruguayan Liga de Ascenso. In 18 games last season, he averaged an impressive 16.4ppg, 11.2rpg, and 1.4apg. He was named League Player of the Week and selected to the Latinbasket.com All-Uruguayan Liga de Ascenso Second Team. Andrade also played for Marinos de Oriente (SPB) in Venezuela.
Andrade is a very experienced player, having played in Brazil (Pato), Spain (Almansa), Uruguay (Cordon), Venezuela, and Argentina (Obras, Obras).
Between many awards, his team was regular season runner-up in Argentinian LDD in 2020. Andrade was voted to Latinbasket.com All-Uruguay Metropolitan League Honorable Mention in 2024.
