Ivan Almeida added to the roster of Juvi Cremona

Ferraroni Juvi Cremona (Serie A2) strengthened their roster with addition of experienced 35-year old Cape Verdean-Portuguese 197cm small forward Ivan Almeida (college: Stonehill). He is the second foreign player in the roster as USA Eddy Polanco signed here earlier.
He supposed to play at Happy Casa Brindisi. In 10 Serie A2 games in Italy he recorded 12.9ppg, 4.8rpg, 2.5apg and 1.3spg this season. He also played for Al Ahly Tripoli (D1) in Libyan league. He also spent pre-season at Sporting Clube de Portugal Lisboa (Liga Betclic) in Portugal.
Almeida represented Cape Verde at the FIBA World Cup in Philippines-Japan-Indonesia two years ago. During this event he scored an average of 11.6 points per game and had 4.4 rebounds per game.
He is a very experienced player. Thanks to his pro career he managed to play on three different continents (Europe, Africa and of course North America) in nine different countries. Almeida has played previously professionally in France (Cholet Basket, Chorale de Roanne and Lille), Israel (Ironi Nahariya), Latvia, Poland (Anwil), Portugal (Benfica and Galitos-Barreiro), Estonia (Kalev/Cramo), Czech Republic (Nymburk), Italy (Treviso) and The Basketball Tournament (The Cru).
Among many awards he was voted Eurobasket.com All-Polish League Forward of the Year back in 2019.
He is close to retirement age as a player. It may be one of last seasons in his extensive career, which he may end at Juvi Cremona.
He graduated from Stonehill College in 2012 and it is his 13th (hopefully lucky) (!!!) season in pro basketball. He played also for Mohawk Valley Community College for one year.
