Oliveirense lands Joao Embalo

Joao Embalo

U.D. Oliveirense (Liga Betclic) landed 22-year old Cape Verdean 201cm center Joao Embalo, agency: Promo Sport ID for new season. Embalo has played for the last three years at CD Povoa. In 34 Liga Betclic games in Portugal he averaged 5.6ppg, 4.8rpg and 1.3apg last season.
He represented Cape Verde at the European Championships (FIBA EuroBasket) U18 Division B in Oradea (Romania) four years ago. His stats at that event were 8 games: 7.4ppg, 8.3rpg, 1.4apg, 1.5spg, FGP: 62.9%, 3PT-3 (50.0%), FT: 69.2%.
Embalo has played previously for two other teams: CB Queluz and Basket Queluz U18 team.
Among many awards he won Portuguese Proliga championship title in 2021. He was voted to Eurobasket.com Portuguese 1.Divisao All-Domestic Players Team back in 2020.
