Cape Verde - Georgia 60-85

Georgia got to a strong start of their 2023 World Cup campaign. They trounced Cape Verde in Group F opener in Okinawa. Tornike Shengelia (206-PF-1991, agency: Octagon Europe) scored 16 points and grabbed 7 rebounds to lead the winners.
Georgia looked a dominant force in the first half. They established a 20-11 lead after ten minutes. Georgia unloaded 28 points in the second period to take a massive 48-22 halftime lead. Georgia maintained the advantage throughout the third term. They entered the final period up by as many as 33 points and cruised to the victory at the end. Goga Bitadze (212-C/F-1999) notched 15 points and 11 rebounds for the winners. Kenneti Mendes (203-C-1990) answered with 11 points for Cape Verde. Keven Gomes (208-C-1995) had 10 points in the loss.
