Cote d'Ivoire - Cape Verde 77:69

Cote d'Ivoire became the first African nation to qualify for the World Cup. The overcame Cape Verde 77:69 to keep the perfect record in Group E.
Cote d'Ivoire started the game with a 16-14 run and added massive 23-8 surge in the second period. Moreover, they posted a 26-24 rally in the third quarter and did not mind a 12-23 loss at the end of the game.
Stephane Konate (191-SG-1980) and Alexander Poythress (203-C/F-1993, college: Kentucky) top-scored for the winners with 16 points each. Vafessa Fofana (198-F/G-1992) netted 11, whilst Maxence Dadiet (192-PG-1999) had 10. Walter Tavares (220-C-1992) replied with 23 points in the losing effort and Fidel Mendonca (191-F-1984) notched 19.
