Ivan Almeida (ex Anwil) agreed terms with Benfica

Sport Lisboa Benfica (LPB) inked 32-year old naturalized Cape Verdean 198cm small forward Ivan Almeida (college: Stonehill). Almeida already started the season at Anwil in Polish EBL league.
He represented Portugal at the Afrobasket Championship in Rades (Tunisia) seven years ago. His stats at that event were 5 games: 13.4ppg, Reb-5 (8.4rpg), Assists-4 (4.4apg), Steals-3 (2.8spg), 1.2bpg, FGP: 43.5%, 3PT: 19.2%, FT: 66.7%.
Almeida is a very experienced player. He has played also professionally in France (Cholet Basket, Chorale de Roanne and Lille Metropole), Israel (Ironi Nahariya), Italy (Treviso), Latvia, Estonia (Kalev/Cramo), Czech Republic (Nymburk) and Portugal (Galitos-Barreiro).
Almeida graduated from Stonehill College in 2012 and it is his tenth season in pro basketball.
