Jeffrey Xavier is a newcomer at Oviedo

Unicaja Banco Oviedo (LEB Gold) strengthened their roster with addition of experienced 36-year old American (has also Cape Verdean passport) 189cm point guard Jeffrey Xavier (college: Providence), agency: Interperformances. Xavier is not a newcomer in Spanish League as he played most recently at Caceres Patrimonio de la Humanidad. In 23 LEB Gold games in Spain he recorded 10.9ppg, 3.5rpg and 1.7apg last season.
He was also voted to Afrobasket.com All-FIBA AfroBasket 2nd Team in 2021.
The previous (19-20) season he played at Leyma Basquet Coruna where in 24 LEB Gold games he averaged 10.8ppg, 3.7rpg, 3.0apg and 1.3spg.
He represented Cape Verde at the Afrobasket Championships in Rades (Tunisia) six years ago. His stats at that event were 5 games: Score-2 (19.6ppg), 4.2rpg, Assists-5 (4.0apg), 1.6spg, FGP: 42.9%, 3PT: 36.2%, FT: 78.6%.
He is a very experienced player. Xavier has played also professionally in France (Quimper UJAP), Germany (Bayreuth), Portugal (FC Porto) and Spain (Breogan, Burgos and Palencia).
His team won Portuguese Supercup in 2017.
It may be one of last seasons in his extensive career, which he may end at Oviedo.
He attended Providence College until 2009 and it will be his 13th (hopefully lucky) (!!!) season in pro basketball.
