Joel Almeida (ex FAP) signs at Kriol Star

Kriol Star (Praia League) landed experienced 39-year old double-passport holder Portuguese 193cm small forward Joel Almeida (college: SUNY Brockport State). He has played for the last two years at Forces Armees et Police Basketball de Yaounde in Cameroonian D1 league.
He represented Cape Verde at the FIBA World Cup in Philippines-Japan-Indonesia last year. During this event he scored an average of 2 points per game and had rebounds per game.
Almeida is a very experienced player. And here thanks to pro basketball he experienced life in six different countries playing on three different continents. He is familiar with European, African and of course North American leagues. Almeida has played previously professionally in Cyprus (Apollon), Georgia (Kutaisi and Sokhumi), Greece (Psychikou), Portugal (Lusitania, Sampaense and Vagos), Spain (Coviran Granada and Cambados) and Angola (Atletico Sport Aviation Luanda).
He won Cameroonian League championship title in 2022.
It may be one of last seasons in his extensive career, which he may end at Kriol Star.
Almeida graduated from SUNY Brockport State in 2008 and it will be his 17th (!!!) season in pro basketball.
