Mouphtaou Yarou signs at Le Portel

ESSM Le Portel Cote d'Opale (Betclic ELITE ProA) landed 31-year old Beninese 206cm power forward Mouphtaou Yarou (college: Villanova). Yarou already started the season at JSF Nanterre. In three Betclic ELITE ProA games in France he averaged 6.3ppg and 4.3rpg. The last season he played at Boulazac Basket where in 31 Betclic ELITE ProA games he had 13.9ppg, 8.3rpg (#2 in the league) and 1.3apg. Good season as he was voted League Player of the Week.
He has tried to make it to the NBA and played in the NBA Pro Summer League in 2016.
Yarou has played previously professionally also in Serbia (KK Radnicki 1950 Kragujevac) and France (Olympique Antibes, Metropolitans and Le Mans).
Among many awards his team made it to the French Cup final in 2017. He was selected to French ProA All-Star Game in 2019.
Yarou attended Villanova University until 2013 and it is his ninth season in pro basketball.
