There was no surprise in Kampala where 9th rankedLady Tomahawks (5-11) were crushed by second ranked KIU Rangers (12-2) 82-51 on Wednesday. KIU Rangers forced 23 Lady Tomahawks turnovers. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 24 assists. It was a great evening for forward Sharon Kirabo (170-1996) who led her team to a victory scoring 16 points and 7 rebounds. Mary Amaniyo (180-2003) helped adding 13 points and 8 rebounds. Four KIU Rangers players scored in double figures. The best for the losing side was guard Stella Lunkuse (-1998) with 6 points, 11 rebounds and 5 assists and forward Dorah Nakijjoba scored 10 points, 7 rebounds, 4 assists and 5 steals. Since the result was very predictable, it gave the chance for the coaches to test many bench players and allowed the starting five to rest. The victory was the ninth consecutive win for KIU Rangers . They maintain second place with 12-2 record having just three points less than leader JKL Dolphins. Lady Tomahawks lost their fifth game in a row. Newly promoted team dropped to the eighth position with 11 games lost.
