Regular Season Round 13: Lady Tomahawks - JKL Dolphins 54-71

Another exciting game was again a derby between two local teams from Kampala:JKL Dolphins (#1) and Lady Tomahawks (#8). Lady Tomahawks were crushed at home by 17 points 54-71 and even the advantage of their own court did not help. JKL Dolphins forced 29 Lady Tomahawks turnovers and outrebounded them 58-46 including 23 on the offensive glass. Forward Becky Longom stepped up with a double-double by scoring 16 points and 14 rebounds for the winners and the former international power forward Hope Akello (183-1997) chipped in 12 points and 16 rebounds. At the losing side forward Dorah Nakijjoba responded with 5 points and 12 rebounds and Christine Namyalo (-2006) scored 12 points and 5 rebounds. Both coaches tested many bench players and allowed the starting five to rest. The victory was the twelfth consecutive win for JKL Dolphins . Defending champion maintains first place with 12-1 record. Newly promoted Lady Tomahawks keep the eighth position with eight games lost. They share it with A1 Challenge.
