There was no surprise when 9th rankedUR Kigali (1-8) was outplayed at home by third ranked GSMRR (7-2) 103-57 on Saturday. GSMRR dominated down low during the game scoring 72 of its points in the paint compared to UR Kigali 's 46. GSMRR forced 51 UR Kigali turnovers. Strangely UR Kigali outrebounded GSMRR 62-49 including 24 on the offensive glass. The best player for the winners was forward Brigitte Nibishaka (-2003) who had a double-double by scoring 40 points (!!!), 19 rebounds, 5 assists and 7 steals. Yvonne Muhawenimana (-2002) chipped in 28 points, 5 assists and 9 steals. Adeline Ihimbazwe produced a double-double by scoring 10 points and 17 rebounds and Brigitte Wihogora added 16 points and 9 rebounds respectively for the hosts. The winner was already known earlier in the game, so both coaches allowed to play the bench players saving starting five for next games. GSMRR maintains third position with 7-2 record behind leader APR. Loser UR Kigali keeps the ninth place with eight games lost.
