The most exciting game was a derby match between two local teams from Kampala:KIU Rangers (#3) and Lady Tomahawks (#6). KIU Rangers (5-1) crushed visiting Lady Tomahawks (3-3) by 28 points 81-53 . KIU Rangers held Lady Tomahawks to an opponent 23.8 percent shooting from the field compared to 47.9 percent accuracy of the winners. They outrebounded Lady Tomahawks 48-37 including a 39-22 advantage in defensive rebounds. KIU Rangers looked well-organized offensively handing out 26 assists comparing to just 12 passes made by Lady Tomahawks ' players. Forward Sharon Kirabo (170-1996) stepped up with a double-double by scoring 20 points, 16 rebounds and 4 assists for the winners and guard Ines Kanyamunza chipped in 27 points and 5 assists. KIU Rangers' coach felt very confident using 11 players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Forward Dorah Nakijjoba responded with 11 points and 7 rebounds and Christine Namyalo (-2006) scored 10 points and 5 rebounds. KIU Rangers moved-up to second place, which they share with UCU Ladies. Newly promoted Lady Tomahawks keep the sixth position with three games lost.
