Regular Season Round 4: KIU Rangers - YMCA Hamstars 79-41

Everything went according to plan when fourth rankedKIU Rangers (4-1) outplayed 8th ranked YMCA Hamstars (2-4) in Kampala 79-41 on Sunday. KIU Rangers held YMCA Hamstars to an opponent 23.2 percent shooting from the field compared to 34.2 percent accuracy of the winners. KIU Rangers forced 22 YMCA Hamstars turnovers and outrebounded them 60-31 including a 21-7 advantage in offensive rebounds. The winners were led by Mary Amaniyo (180-2003) who had that evening a double-double by scoring 17 points and 14 rebounds and forward Sharon Kirabo (170-1996) supported her with 11 points and 16 rebounds. Five KIU Rangers players scored in double figures. Even 12 points by Akello Scovia did not help to save the game for YMCA Hamstars . Rose Musundi added 8 points and 6 rebounds for lost side. Since the result was very predictable, it gave the chance for the coaches to test many bench players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. KIU Rangers moved-up to third place, which they share with UCU Ladies. Newly promoted YMCA Hamstars keep the eighth position with four games lost.
