Regular Season Round 18: CPPL - P.Luanda 62-100

The most interesting game was a derby match between two local teams from Luanda:P.Luanda (#1) and CPPL (#4). CPPL was smashed at home by 38 points 62-100 and even the fact of playing on their own court did not help. It ended at the same time the five-game winning streak of CPPL. P.Luanda dominated down low during the game scoring 52 of its points in the paint compared to CPPL 's 24. They outrebounded CPPL 58-37 including a 39-22 advantage in defensive rebounds. P.Luanda looked well-organized offensively handing out 32 assists comparing to just 14 passes made by CPPL 's players. International forward Aboubacar Gakou (201-1997) had a double-double by scoring 26 points and 11 rebounds (on 10-of-12 shooting from the field) to lead the charge for the winners and the former international center Yanick Moreira (208-1991, college: SMU) chipped in 17 points and 11 rebounds during the contest. The best for the losing side was the former international Mutau Fonseca (202-1989) with 16 points and 7 rebounds and Antonio Ndabililwa scored 10 points and 7 rebounds. The winner was already known earlier in the game, so both coaches allowed to play the bench players saving starting five for next games. P.Luanda (18-1) have an impressive 17-game winning streak. Defending champion maintains first position. CPPL at the other side keeps the fourth place with six games lost.
