Regular Season Round 24: KIU Rangers - Nkumba LM 89-61

Very predictable result in Kampala where fourth ranked KIU Rangers (13-4) smashed bottom-ranked Nkumba LM (1-17) 89-61 on Sunday. KIU Rangers forced 37 Nkumba LM turnovers and outrebounded them 52-25 including a 19-5 advantage in offensive rebounds. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 28 assists comparing to just 15 passes made by Nkumba LM's players. The best player for the winners was forward Sharon Kirabo (170-1996) who had a double-double by scoring 19 points and 14 rebounds. Guard Ines Kanyamunza chipped in 22 points and 4 assists. KIU Rangers' coach felt very confident using 10 players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. At the other side the best for losing team was guard Patience Mauso (-2000) who recorded 14 points and center Jesca Nakamanya (-1993) added 8 points, 6 rebounds and 4 assists respectively. KIU Rangers moved-up to second place. Nkumba LM lost third consecutive game. They stay dead last with 17 lost games. KIU Rangers' supporters look forward to an exciting derby game next round, where their team will travel locally in Kampala to the arena A1 Challenge.
