Regular Season Round 24: KCCA Leopards - JTL Jaguars 55-54

The most surprising game was a loss of top-ranked JTL Jaguars (17-4) in Kampala on Friday night. Visitors were edged by fifth ranked KCCA Leopards (12-4) 55-54. KCCA Leopards dominated down low during the game scoring 44 of its points in the paint compared to JTL Jaguars' 24. KCCA Leopards forced 32 JTL Jaguars turnovers. Worth to mention a great performance of guard Susan Aanyu (-1992) who helped to win the game recording a double-double by scoring 17 points and 10 rebounds and the former international center Martha Soigi (185-1986) who added 15 points and 5 rebounds during the contest. The best for the losing side was Namuwaya Muhaimina with 7 points and 13 rebounds and guard Rhoda Nagitta scored 10 points and 6 rebounds. Both coaches used bench players in such tough game. KCCA Leopards have a solid four-game winning streak. They moved-up to fourth place, which they share with UCU Ladies. Newly promoted JTL Jaguars still keep top position with four games lost. KCCA Leopards' supporters look forward to an exciting derby game next round, where their team will face at home their local rival from Kampala UCU Ladies.
