Regular Season Round 21: UPDF - City Oilers 50-75

NBL top team - City Oilers (17-0) had no problems winning another game. This time they crushed eleventh ranked UPDF (5-14) in Kampala 75-50. City Oilers forced 24 UPDF turnovers. Strangely UPDF outrebounded City Oilers 55-39 including a 44-32 advantage in defensive rebounds. They brought some defensive toughness making 7 blocks. International Tony Drileba (183-1993) stepped up and scored 14 points and 6 rebounds for the winners and Sudanese center Titus Lual chipped in 6 points and 12 rebounds. The best for the losing side was Arthur Wanyoto with a double-double by scoring 13 points and 10 rebounds and swingman Andrew Gang (-1996) scored 14 points and 6 rebounds. Since the result was very predictable, it gave the chance for the coaches to test many bench players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. The victory was the seventeenth consecutive win for City Oilers. Defending champion maintains first place with 17-0 record. UPDF at the other side keeps the eleventh position with 14 games lost. City Oilers' supporters look forward to an exciting derby game next round, where their team will travel locally in Kampala to the arena Our Saviour.
