The most exciting game was a derby match between two local teams from Kampala: Blazers (#3) and KIU Titans (#2). Blazers (14-4) won against visiting KIU Titans (13-3) 68-57. It ended at the same time the five-game winning streak of KIU Titans. It was a key game for the second position in the league. Blazers made 20-of-23 free shots (87.0 percent) during the game. They also forced 25 KIU Titans turnovers. Strangely KIU Titans outrebounded Blazers 50-37 including 16 on the offensive glass. It was a great evening for Peter Cheng who led his team to a victory with a double-double by scoring 13 points and 18 rebounds. American-Togolese guard Jimmy Williams (196-1986, college: ABU) helped adding 26 points. Williams is a former Eurobasket Summer League player, which is considered top international summer league in the market. At the losing side forward Joseph Chuma (-1991) responded with 9 points, 12 rebounds, 5 assists and 4 steals and the former international forward Stanley Mugerwa (198-1995) scored 8 points and 12 rebounds. KIU Titans' coach rotated ten players in this game, but that didn't help. Blazers have an impressive series of nine victories in a row. They moved-up to second place. KIU Titans at the other side dropped to the third position with three games lost. Blazers' supporters look forward to another derby game next round, where their team will travel locally in Kampala to the arena KCCA P..
