Nkumba LM's fans can finally celebrate the first win of their team after 14 consecutive losses. The victory is especially important as it came on the road game in Kampala, where they edged Kampala Uni (4-10) 51-49. Nkumba LM held Kampala Uni to an opponent 20.4 percent shooting from the field compared to 23.9 percent accuracy of the winners. Nkumba LM forced 27 Kampala Uni turnovers. Strangely Kampala Uni outrebounded Nkumba LM 58-26 including a 38-16 advantage in defensive rebounds. Center Jesca Nakamanya (-1993) had a double-double by scoring 10 points and 11 rebounds to lead the charge for the winners and guard Mellisa Namboowa (-1992) chipped in 9 points during the contest. The best for the losing side was Mercy Batamuliza with a double-double by scoring 20 points and 29 rebounds and Josephine Alimochan scored 4 points and 10 rebounds. Nkumba LM maintains twelfth position with 1-14 record. It was Kampala Uni's third loss in a row. Newly promoted team keeps the eighth place with ten games lost. Nkumba LM's supporters look forward to an exciting derby game next round, where their team will face at home their local rival from Kampala JKL Dolphins.
