Regular Season Round 18: KIU Rangers - Miracle 63-62

The most exciting game of round 18 in the NBL took place in Kampala. This derby game ended with only one-point defeat on the road of 7th ranked Miracle (8-6) to third ranked KIU Rangers (11-3) 63-62 on Saturday evening. It ended at the same time the three-game winning streak of Miracle. 24 personal fouls committed by Miracle helped opponents get some easy free throw opportunities. It was a good game for guard Perus Nyamwenge who saved her team from a defeat with 24 points and 7 rebounds (went 7 for 7 at the free throw line). Guard Diana Letaru contributed with 13 points and 6 rebounds for the winners. Guard Akello Winnifred (-2001) replied with a double-double by scoring 22 points, 21 rebounds and 6 assists and forward Brenda Alyano added 17 points in the effort for Miracle. KIU Rangers have an impressive nine-game winning streak. They moved-up to second place. Miracle at the other side keeps the seventh position with six games lost. KIU Rangers will have a break next round, and it should allow them to practice more before next game. Miracle's supporters look forward to an exciting derby game next round, where their team will travel locally in Kampala to the arena KCCA Leopards.
