Regular Season Round 18: Our Saviour - Power 66-73

Another interesting game was a derby match between two teams from Kampala: Power (#6) and Our Saviour (#6). Our Saviour was defeated at home 66-73 and even the fact of playing on their own court did not help. Power outrebounded Our Saviour 52-29 including a 34-20 advantage in defensive rebounds. Their players were unselfish on offense dishing 24 assists comparing to just 7 passes made by Our Saviour's players. Our Saviour was plagued by 26 personal fouls down the stretch. Puati Kikomba had a double-double by scoring 17 points, 17 rebounds and 7 assists to lead the charge for the winners and power forward Isaac Afidra (-1985) chipped in 22 points and 10 rebounds during the contest. The best for the losing side was Malual Dier with 18 points and 6 rebounds and guard Joseph Wacha (-1991) scored 14 points. Both coaches tested many bench players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Power (7-7) moved-up to fifth place. Our Saviour lost third consecutive game. They keep the sixth position with eight games lost. Power's supporters look forward to another derby game next round, where their team will travel locally in Kampala to the arena UPDF.
