Another exciting game was again a derby between two local teams from Kampala: Blazers (#3) and UPDF (#8). Blazers (11-4) won against visiting UPDF (4-9) 62-49. Blazers forced 25 UPDF turnovers. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 22 assists. The former international forward Geoffrey Soro (198-1992) stepped up with a double-double by scoring 16 points, 14 rebounds and 4 assists for the winners and guard Christopher Omanye (183-1994) chipped in 14 points, 5 rebounds and 6 assists. Michael Kojjo responded with a double-double by scoring 19 points and 10 rebounds and forward Benard Okumu (-1986) scored 13 points and 7 rebounds. Both coaches allowed to play bench players saving starting five for next games. The victory was the sixth consecutive win for Blazers. They moved-up to second place. Loser UPDF keeps the eighth position with nine games lost. They share it with JKL Dolphins. Blazers' supporters look forward to another derby game next round, where their team will travel locally in Kampala to the arena JKL Dolphins.
