Regular Season Round 17: Nabisunsa - A1 Challenge 49-53

Everything could happen in Kampala at the game between two tied teams. Both tenth ranked A1 Challenge and their close opponent Nabisunsa had identical 3-10 record. But Nabisunsa was not able to use a home court advantage and was defeated by the opponent from Kampala 53-49 on Wednesday night. A1 Challenge held Nabisunsa to an opponent 22.4 percent shooting from the field compared to 27.6 percent accuracy of the winners. A1 Challenge forced 31 Nabisunsa turnovers. Strangely Nabisunsa outrebounded A1 Challenge 57-37 including 22 on the offensive glass. Cathy Kekimuli stepped up with a double-double by scoring 10 points and 15 rebounds for the winners and Vivian Lusamamba chipped in 8 points and 9 rebounds. Guard Sarah Namale (-2005) responded with 6 points and 18 rebounds and forward Tamasha Nsubuga scored 19 points. Both coaches tested many bench players in such tough game. The victory was the third consecutive win for A1 Challenge. They moved-up to ninth place. Nabisunsa lost their fifth game in a row. They keep the tenth position with 11 games lost. A1 Challenge's supporters look forward to an exciting derby game next round, where their team will travel locally in Kampala to the arena Magic Stormers.
