Regular Season Round 15: UCU Ladies - Magic Stormers 45-56

Another exciting game was again a derby match of two local teams from Kampala: Magic Stormers (#6) and UCU Ladies (#3). UCU Ladies were defeated at home 45-56 and even the fact of playing on their own court did not help. It ended at the same time the six-game winning streak of UCU Ladies. Magic Stormers held UCU Ladies to an opponent 22.7 percent shooting from the field compared to 32.0 percent accuracy of the winners. They outrebounded UCU Ladies 57-45 including 23 on the offensive glass. It was an exceptional evening for guard Christine Nakito who led the winners and scored 8 points and 26 rebounds. Kur Ajah accounted for 16 points and 12 rebounds for the winning side. Magic Stormers' coach used entire bench which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Aziida Nabayunga (-2000) came up with 13 points and 8 rebounds and the former international Bridget Aber (-2001) added 7 points and 10 rebounds respectively for UCU Ladies in the defeat. Magic Stormers (8-3) moved-up to third place, which they share with 3 other teams including defeated UCU Ladies.
