Regular Season Round 15: KCCA Leopards - KIU Rangers 58-85

The most exciting game was a derby match between two local teams from Kampala: KIU Rangers (#4) and KCCA Leopards (#5). KCCA Leopards were crushed at home by 27 points 58-85 and even the advantage of their own court did not help. KIU Rangers forced 29 KCCA Leopards turnovers. It was a good game for Mary Amaniyo (180-2003) who led her team to a victory with 18 points and 7 rebounds. Guard Ines Kanyamunza contributed with 15 points and 5 rebounds for the winners. Four KIU Rangers players scored in double figures. The former international center Martha Soigi (185-1986) answered with 13 points and 7 rebounds and point guard Ruth Kirungi (-1994) added 12 points in the effort for KCCA Leopards. KCCA Leopards' coach gave up on the game allowing to play ten players seeing no chance for a win. KIU Rangers (8-3) have an impressive series of six victories in a row. They moved-up to third place, which they share with 3 other teams including defeated KCCA Leopards.
