Regular Season Round 14: UCU Canons - Our Saviour 55-61

The most interesting game was a derby match between two local teams from Kampala: Our Saviour (#5) and UCU Canons (#3). UCU Canons were defeated at home 55-61 and even the fact of playing on their own court did not help. It ended at the same time the six-game winning streak of UCU Canons. Our Saviour forced 22 UCU Canons turnovers and outrebounded them 48-37 including 16 on the offensive glass. The best player for the winners was Kenneth Mesho who scored 8 points and 11 rebounds. Power forward Moses Mugisha (-1984) chipped in 8 points and 6 rebounds. Our Saviour's coach used a ten-player rotation which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Center Peter Sifuma (-1996) produced a double-double by scoring 14 points and 13 rebounds and the former international forward Rogers Dauna (196-2000) added 12 points and 5 rebounds respectively for the hosts. Our Saviour have a solid four-game winning streak. They maintain fifth position with 5-3 record. UCU Canons at the other side dropped to the fourth place with four games lost. Our Saviour's supporters look forward to another derby game next round, where their team will face at home their local rival from Kampala Blazers.
