Regular Season Round 14: KCCA Leopards - Magic Stormers 64-63

The most exciting game of round 14 in the NBL took place in Kampala. This derby game ended with only one-point defeat on the road of 6th ranked Magic Stormers (7-3) to fifth ranked KCCA Leopards (7-2) 64-63 on Friday evening. KCCA Leopards forced 23 Magic Stormers turnovers. Strangely Magic Stormers outrebounded KCCA Leopards 40-28 including 17 on the offensive glass. The best player for the winners was guard Leanne Nalunkuma (-1990) who scored 18 points. The former international guard Angella Namirimu (-1990) chipped in 12 points and 4 assists. KCCA Leopards' coach used an eleven-player rotation in such tough game. Guard Christine Nakito produced 7 points and 19 rebounds and guard Charity Lamaro added 14 points, 5 rebounds and 6 assists respectively for the guests. KCCA Leopards have a solid four-game winning streak. They moved-up to third place, which they share with JKL Dolphins. Magic Stormers at the other side dropped to the fifth position with three games lost. KCCA Leopards' supporters look forward to an exciting derby game next round, where their team will face at home their local rival from Kampala Angels.
