There was no surprise in Kampala where 9th ranked Nabisunsa (2-5) was crushed by third ranked UCU Ladies (8-2) 93-40 on Wednesday. UCU Ladies held Nabisunsa to an opponent 21.4 percent shooting from the field compared to 43.8 percent accuracy of the winners. UCU Ladies forced 27 Nabisunsa turnovers and outrebounded them 54-41 including 17 on the offensive glass. Aziida Nabayunga (-2000) had a double-double by scoring 19 points and 12 rebounds to lead the charge for the winners and the former international Bridget Aber (-2001) chipped in 11 points, 10 rebounds and 4 assists during the contest. Five UCU Ladies players scored in double figures. Guard Sarah Namale (-2005) responded with 9 points, 10 rebounds and 4 assists and Darlene Tashobya (-2005) scored 10 points and 9 rebounds. The winner was already known earlier in the game, so both coaches allowed to play the bench players saving starting five for next games. UCU Ladies have an impressive six-game winning streak. Defending champion moved-up to second place. Nabisunsa lost third consecutive game. They keep the ninth position with five games lost. UCU Ladies' supporters look forward to an exciting derby game next round, where their team will face at home their local rival from Kampala Magic Stormers.
