Regular Season Round 9: JKL Dolphins - Magic Stormers 78-50

The most exciting game was a derby match between two local teams from Kampala: JKL Dolphins (#3) and Magic Stormers (#4). JKL Dolphins (6-1) crushed visiting Magic Stormers (4-2) by 28 points 78-50. JKL Dolphins dominated down low during the game scoring 62 of its points in the paint compared to Magic Stormers' 36. JKL Dolphins forced 30 Magic Stormers turnovers and outrebounded them 46-34 including a 19-6 advantage in offensive rebounds. It was a good game for the former international guard Brenda Ekone (152-1996) who led her team to a victory with 20 points. Christine Namulumba contributed with a double-double by scoring 13 points and 11 rebounds for the winners. Four JKL Dolphins players scored in double figures. Kur Ajah answered with 14 points and 9 rebounds and Daniella Nyamwezi added 9 points and 6 rebounds in the effort for Magic Stormers. The winner was already known earlier in the game, so both coaches allowed to play the bench players saving starting five for next games. JKL Dolphins have a solid series of four victories in a row. They moved-up to second place. Magic Stormers at the other side keep the fourth position with two games lost. They share it with KCCA Leopards.
