Very expected game when 11th ranked Kampala R. (1-4) was rolled over on the road by second ranked KIU Titans (5-1) 78-53 on Sunday. KIU Titans forced 27 Kampala R. turnovers. Worth to mention a great performance of the former international guard Peter Obleng (190-2003) who helped to win the game recording 20 points and 5 rebounds and the former international forward Stanley Mugerwa (198-1995) who added 11 points, 10 rebounds and 4 assists during the contest. Guard Gideon Kasasa (-1998) responded with 8 points, 5 rebounds and 5 assists and Kur Garang scored 15 points. Since the result was very predictable, it gave the chance for the coaches to test many bench players and allowed the starting five to get some rest. KIU Titans have a solid three-game winning streak. They maintain second position with 5-1 record having nine points less than leader City Oilers. Newly promoted Kampala R. dropped to the bottom place with four games lost. KIU Titans' supporters look forward to an exciting derby game next round, where their team will travel locally in Kampala to the arena Power.
