Regular Season Round 6: KIU Rangers - UCU Ladies 63-66

The most exciting game of round 6 in the NBL took place in Kampala. This derby game ended with only three-point home defeat of 7th ranked KIU Rangers (2-3) to third ranked UCU Ladies (5-2) 66-63 on Friday evening. UCU Ladies shot 26 for 37 from the free-throw line, while KIU Rangers only scored three points from the stripe. 24 personal fouls committed by KIU Rangers helped opponents get some easy free throw opportunities. Guard Tracy Namugosa had a double-double by scoring 13 points, 13 rebounds and 6 assists to lead the charge for the winners and Shillah Lamunu chipped in 15 points, 11 rebounds and 4 assists during the contest. The best for the losing side was guard Diana Letaru with a double-double by scoring 16 points, 12 rebounds, 5 assists and 4 steals and forward Sharon Kirabo (170-1996) produced a double-double by scoring 15 points and 13 rebounds. Five UCU Ladies and four KIU Rangers players scored in double figures. KIU Rangers' coach rotated ten players in this game, but that didn't help. UCU Ladies have a solid three-game winning streak. Defending champion moved-up to second place. KIU Rangers at the other side keep the seventh position with three games lost. They share it with Miracle. Both teams do not play next round, which will be an opportunity for some rest.
