Regular Season Round 8: UCU Canons - JKL Dolphins 57-41

There was no surprise in Kampala where 11th ranked JKL Dolphins (2-4) were defeated by fifth ranked UCU Canons (4-3) 57-41 on Wednesday. UCU Canons held JKL Dolphins to an opponent 17.9 percent shooting from the field compared to 32.8 percent accuracy of the winners. UCU Canons had a 47-32 advantage in offensive rebounds. Worth to mention a great performance of center Peter Sifuma (-1996) who helped to win the game recording 7 points and 15 rebounds and guard Ibanda Lwabaga (-1998) who added 14 points and 5 rebounds during the contest. Forward Derrick Katumba (194-1993) responded with 3 points and 18 rebounds and Denis Omara scored 12 points and 5 rebounds. Both coaches tested many bench players and allowed the starting five to rest. UCU Canons have a solid three-game winning streak. They moved-up to fourth place. Loser JKL Dolphins dropped to the seventh position with four games lost. They share it with Ndejje Angels. UCU Canons will have a break next round, and it should allow them to practice more before next game. JKL Dolphins' supporters look forward to an exciting derby game next round, where their team will travel locally in Kampala to the arena Ndejje Angels.
