Regular Season Round 6: Power - UPDF 62-66

There was a surprise result when tenth ranked UPDF (2-3) won against one of their biggest challengers Power (2-3) in Kampala 66-62 on Wednesday. UPDF dominated down low during the game scoring 48 of its points in the paint compared to Power's 26. They outrebounded Power 60-37 including a 21-10 advantage in offensive rebounds. Arthur Wanyoto notched a double-double by scoring 10 points and 15 rebounds to lead the effort and swingman Andrew Gang (-1996) supported him with 13 points and 10 rebounds. Four UPDF players scored in double figures. Even 29 points by Guellord Mobanza did not help to save the game for Power. Elvis Mutebi added 6 points, 7 rebounds, 6 assists and 6 steals. Power's coach tried various players' combinations and tested in total eleven players in this game, but that didn't help. UPDF moved-up to fourth place, which they share with 3 other teams including defeated Power. Power lost third consecutive game. UPDF's supporters look forward to an exciting derby game next round, where their team will travel locally in Kampala to the arena UCU Canons.
