Regular Season Round 5: Kampala Uni - A1 Challenge 70-64

There was no surprise when bottom-ranked A1 Challenge (0-4) was defeated on the road by eighth ranked Kampala Uni (2-2) 70-64 on Saturday. Kampala Uni forced 25 A1 Challenge turnovers. Strangely A1 Challenge outrebounded Kampala Uni 63-50 including 28 on the offensive glass. Margaret Bagaala stepped up and scored 47 points (!!!) and 7 rebounds for the winners and guard Hanifah Namuli (-2002) chipped in 14 points and 8 rebounds. Guard Peggy Nabwire responded with 18 points and 9 rebounds and Cathy Kekimuli scored 4 points and 13 rebounds. Both coaches used bench players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Kampala Uni moved-up to sixth place, which they share with Miracle and KIU Rangers. Loser A1 Challenge still closes the standings with four games lost. They share the position with Nkumba LM. Both teams do not play next round, which will be an opportunity for some rest.
