Regular Season Round 5: Power - Blazers 60-63

The biggest surprise of round 5 in NBL was guest Blazers' (3-1) road victory over Power (#4) 63-60 on Friday evening. Blazers dominated down low during the game scoring 40 of its points in the paint compared to Power's 20. Blazers forced 26 Power turnovers and outrebounded them 54-42 including a 36-23 advantage in defensive rebounds. The best player for the winners was Peter Cheng who had a double-double by scoring 22 points, 12 rebounds, 4 assists and 7 steals. The former international forward Geoffrey Soro (198-1992) chipped in a double-double by scoring 10 points, 10 rebounds, 5 assists and 5 steals. Power forward Isaac Afidra (-1985) produced 17 points and 6 rebounds and forward Samad Imran (-1993) added 10 points and 12 rebounds respectively for the hosts. Four Power players scored in double figures. Blazers moved-up to second place, which they share with KIU Titans. Power at the other side keeps the fourth position with two games lost. Blazers' supporters look forward to an exciting derby game next round, where their team will travel locally in Kampala to the arena City Oilers.
